Top notch flash well worth the money, yes its not the all singing and dancing £300+ one but this is worth a punt, if you want a something that does what it says on the box this is it, I have a nikon d7000 and it works a treat without the expense, buy this and get yourself a quailty lens with the money you saved

To encourage my 16 year-old daughter to have more control over the built in flash on her Canon 1100D camera, I was looking to buy an external flash but was surprised when I checked the prices. They were typically £200/£300 and definitely too much to spend on 'trying new methods'.
But this item is so good, I was astonished as to how they can produce and sell such a great light for so few £££s! Simply excellent.

Excellent flash particularly being able to dial power in simple to use. Bought for Nikon d5100 and works like a charm. I would recommend for flash users who dont want to pay Nikon Prices.

Good build quality and recycle time is more than acceptable

This is the first time Ive dabbled in flashgun technology so forgive me for not showing the same level of expertise as other people here.

The product has been made a little cheaply but overall does the job. The instructions provided are poor so had to look up various tutorials on the net.

First experimentation worked well. Using the cameras wireless commander built in, i was able to light up indoor environments with ease in S1 mode. Outdoors the sensor didnt pick up the inbuilt camera flash so have invested in a wireless radio transmitter, the results of which i will tell you upon its arrival

The main problem that I found was that the flashgun would only work on the camera hotshoe while looking through the viewfinder. In liveview mode (looking at the screen of the camera) the gun would not fire, while on a 600d. No problems on a Nikon D7000 though.

Just something to be aware of.

Very impressed with flash and its price so I bought two and they arrived pretty fast...cannot afford a nikon creative lighting system speed light at the moment, being a full time photography student... this product is quite powerful and excellent for those who are on a tight budget but still want pro looking results.

From the reviews posted some people are quite harsh with this product. It is a pretty basic camera but has all the features needed for a first time buyer and fitted my nikon 3100 easily. For the price it cant be argued with.

A good product for the cost. Of course, it's not ETTL, nor does it possess high speed sync or 2nd curtain flash, but it gives a relatively good light for indoors use (and possibly on outdoors, but did not try yet). It is my second flash (I had the 430EX-II) and it serves very well that purpose as a supporting unit to complement my amateur strobist experiments. In manual mode you can use it attached to the body, but this may require trials before obtaining the right illumination. Not for non-experienced users who can't afford missing a shot at first attempt. But in the wireless slave modes (S1 and S2, especially the latter) the unit is very useful and operative. It answers very well (S2) to master's commands (even the 7D pop-up, nice!) and you can do interesting "lightening" experiments. Of course, you still need to adjust manually the intensity, but that is an occasion to try new things; after all, photography is also that! Shows very good times of recycle, and it works very well with rechargeable batteries. The TT560 variant is a bit more powerful, but has the very same functionalities, so advantages are arguable for the price increase. Of the same range of prices and functionalities one can also consider the YN460-II, but it's slightly more expensive.
The manufacturing materials are very good, and the device is pretty well sized (even slightly bigger that the 430EX). One small incident occurred when I pulled out the integrated white reflector (yes, it has one) and pushed it back inside and then it took some efforts to pull it out again... beware on that operation: when pushing back that white reflector, keep it attached to the light diffuser plate so they both move together in and out. It's a minor detail, but you can avoid some nuisances with this care.
