5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality at a great price 20 Nov 2011
This is a fantasticly priced remote shutter, holding it it feels like a sturdy item of solid plastic construction, and it works perfectly with the Canon 400D, half depressing the button will focus the shot and full depressing will shoot. The button can also be slid upwards to lock the switch when you are on bulb mode - this will allow you to create long shutter times - on the 400D camera the camera counts upwards so that you can see how long you have been holding the shutter open.

All in all a fantastic product at a great price, I have not used a official Canon brand shutter release but for a lot more money I can't see that they could do a better job than this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Well made alternative to Canon Release 15 Nov 2011
By Mike60
This is a well made product and does what it is meant too. Much cheaper than the Canon product very good value for money. Don't be put off by the price, worth every penny. Highly recommended.

I bought this shutter as a replacement for a radio controlled shutter release which broke after 2 years of decent use.
Really cheap price, It couldn't be easier to use, just press the button to trigger the AF and shutter and slide the button for bulb exposures. The cable is just the right length, not too long and not too short.

Why only 2 stars? Well after just 30 minutes use the plastic coating that connects the cable with the remote has split and come away, exposing the wires. The shutter cable still works at the moment but no matter how cheap the remote was, the plastic coating shouldn't break after one use and I'm reluctant to use it in case it fully breaks. I'm currently waiting to hear from the seller to see if it will be replaced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Use with a Canon 650d 16 Nov 2012
By Mark

I bought this to use with our Canon 650d and it does what it says. Some people have criticise the quality of this produce but at 2.15 INCLUDING POSTAGE & PACKAGING what do they expect. Yes there are better built models out there but at better built prices! At the end of the day all any of them do is plug into the camera and fire the shutter when you press the button.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works just fine 8 Nov 2012

It works just fine and whilst not quite as refined as the OEM version it is pretty close the half press and full press are easy to feel and the button slides forward to lock the shutter open

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well. 10 Oct 2012

After ordering the remote shutter release cable I had some reservations due to the low price but this was unfounded as it really works quite well. Other than maybe the short cable length, I was pleased with this purchase and should have read through the product details more closely had I needed a longer reach cable, but as it was the item suited my needs just fine. Great for the price, glad I bought it. My astrophotography will improve now I dont have to try triggering the shutter by hand, so this was very useful.
