EDIT: Be warned, the joypad may not work on every game you have. See bottom of review.

This is such a simple device and it does the job perfectly.

Got this as I had an old PS2 joypad and I wanted to use it to play San Andreas on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. No drivers, no 3rd party software, just plug n play.

The lead and connectors all appear to be sturdy and the moulded cable strain reliefs appear to be doing the job. The lead is only a few inches long, but more than enough to take the PS socket clear of the computer and any vents.

I have noticed that on some occasions the character in the game goes crazy and I lose control, pulling out the USB plug and reinserting fixes it. However, I have a sneaky feeling that this is down to the wear and tear on my controller and not the adapter itself.

Can't comment on vibration feedback as my joypad isn't a rumble pad.

5 stars as I just cannot find a fault in it and the price is good.

*****
EDIT: Just bought GTA4 Episodes from Liberty City (running on Windows 7 pro 64bit) - The joypad is not recognised by the game :'(
Tempted to take a star off for this, but it is probably a failing of the game software more than the device itself.

Bought this a while back for a couple of kids I know, as they'd tried cheap unoffical PS3 controllers and they'd proved to be a total waste of money. Same can't be said for this however, works brilliantly with their old PS2 controllers. Only thing missing is obviously the PS button, but that's no real issue when used as a second controller.

Also seems to be fairly rugged, as they've owned it for 7 months and haven't broken it yet, I'm not sure anything they've had has ever lasted that long - they've broken their PS3 twice in that timeframe already!

Am going to order one for myself, in the hope that I can get my ancient steering wheel to work with GT5. With it only being about £3 delivered, not much to lose.

Update: The wheel does work with this adapter, you can navigate menus and I even managed to race in my demo of F1 Championship Edition... however, it doesn't work on GT5. Again, you can navigate the in-game menus, the accelerator and brake working as forward/back between the screens and the wheel works left & right, but as soon as you attempt to race, the whole thing dies (apart from the start button). It doesn't take the world's biggest cynic to see why they've stopped people from using their older wheels on the most popular racing game for the PS3, which is pretty poor on their part, seeing as it works fine with other PS3 games. This problem also extends to PS2 controllers, so if you're buying this product in order to play split-screen on GT5, don't waste your money. PS2 controllers work fine on things like the COD & Fifa francises though, as they don't get any income from the sales of peripherals...

Update 2: Well, it seems EA have changed their mind. PS2 controllers don't work with Fifa 13. Works on the demo though, which is very dishonest!

Dirt cheap and it does exactly what is says it is going to do, remembering that you do need a program to configure your joystick, especially with a mac, these are available with a quick google search

After looking around to try to find a PS2 adaptor that would 100% work on W7 64x, I took a chance on this, and it worked straight away :)

Very good buy, would recommend.

Adaptor works exactly as advised in product description. The build quality is good for the price.

Used adaptor to connect my old PS2 controller with new PS3. Saved me £25 from buying separate PS3 joystick. Plug and play. Connected with PC running Windows Vista.

Fast delivery and Great buy!

Writing this review as an FYI for others who are considering buying the adapter.

Got this and a PS2 controller when I found that I was unable to customize the controls for the Xbox 360 PC controller in the Assassin's Creed games.

Discovered that when plugged into a USB3 slot on my pc it comes up as "Unknown Device" in Device Manager with no controller showing under Devices and Printers. Only when I plugged it into a USB2 slot did it show as Twin USB Joystick under Devices and Printers.

Found that I was also able to customize the controls for the controllers in AC2 which was my main reason for purchasing the adapter.

If the adapter had worked with USB3 then I would've given it 5 stars but knocked 2 stars of due to the fact that USB2 will become obsolete rather quickly with the rise of USB3.

Perhaps the makers of this adapter should think about bringing out an updated version that will work with USB3.

Edit: Found that I need to customize the controls each time I start a game even if it's the same game.

Edit 2: Downgrading my rating to 0 star as the analogue light on the PS2 controller kept going out after I'd been playing for a while making it unusable even after rebooting my PC. Btw I'm using win7 pro 64 bit as my OS

I had an old PS1 controller. I also had a game on my laptop, which would become much better if I could use a controller (NBA 2K12).
Well, here's your solution. Instead of buying a new expensive controller to suit your PC/PS3, get this. It just plugs straight into the cord, and into the computer you're using. My laptop picked it up straight away, and after a few minutes I was getting used to the controls on my new joypad.

Just make sure you DON'T BEND THE WIRE. After a few bends it becomes very weak and the plastic protection can snap. After some time the whole wire will snap off, and it will become useless.

This happened to me, but the customer service was very helpful. I emailed them about the problem and they sent off a new one to replace it.

10 months down the line it still works perfectly.
