I use this with my iPhone 3GS with no problems.
I have also used it with my girlfriends old iPod Nano and her new Nano (the square one which is all screen and has 4 touchscreen buttons on the interface)
I power the USB from a Griffin power jolt Micro, dual USB adaptor.
I have plugged the audio out into the Aux line on my Pure Highway DAB radio, and also the Aux line on a Nissan Tiida stereo
I regularly use it to charge my 3GS from it with no problems

Terrible noise without a ground loop isolator

This cable caused a terrible squeeling noise in my 2006 prius. I currently used seperate cables for charging and audio with no noise. A background hum wouldn't be a suprise, but this was painful!
Seemed to be charging the iphone 4S.
After getting a ground loop isolator it worked fine.
The cable split into its two parts about 2 ft way from the iphone, which it good if your two jacks are far apart. I would have prefered one that split in the last few inches since my Aux jack is directly next to my power jack.

I have a fairly old model iPod Nano, and when I got a new car, I wanted a way to play it in the car. I had borrowed a manufacturer-provided cord from my wife's car that worked very well, and judging from the reviews, I didn't expect this one to work as well as that one. But I was (1) not wanting to spend a lot of money, (2) was not looking for a cord that would charge my iPod, and (3) was just wanting something that would play the music clearly and reliably. This one just offers to play the music, and it makes that offer for a very cheap price. I decided to try it out.
When I got it, it worked. I decided not to write any sort of review on it until I'd tried it out for several months and, yep, it's still working great. I even prefer it to the manufacturer cord because it's a lot longer, which makes it easier to control the iPod while I'm driving. So, I'd recommend it. At the price (I didn't have to spend $4 on it), it's a least worth a try to see if it'll work--before you spend $15 on something else that does the same thing.

The two options to connect to (USB or plug) are really good! We connected an old iPod model and worked. I know the new ones do too. So, it's a benefit to have it plugged in at all times to a receiver/amplifier so people can come, just choose their songs on the iPod that is left connected at the time. They can still unplug and plug their own. So, since everyone has an iPod/iPhone device, works great!
