Taking delivery of this tripod reminded me of unpacking my new high-def high-spec video camera. To my shame, I start from the standpoint of "how can something this lightweight be so good?" And to save you a long saga - it can and it is. Oh, and I paid substantially more for a lens hood. This tripod will not perform as well as a full-size tripod: it will not steadily support the weighty beasts of the past and I wouldn't even trust my 35mm camera to be left alone atop it. But where this baby scores is that it is so convenient and light to carry, it is most likely to be there when you need it. And that is for long telephoto shots (despite image stabilisers - it is best if you can use a tripod) locked-off shots (where the subject matter moves and your camera doesn't) and pictures where you figure in the action too. My "proper" tripod is twice as big, eight times as heavy, and cost ten times the price. But because of these things it tends to stay at home too much. This new tripod is sufficiently good to be around when I need it and to remind me of the value of taking the shake out of my shots.

What an excellent buy! I didn't want to pay much as we were only intending to use it if for a one-off whilst borrowing a friends camcorder to record an dance exam piece. We needed the camcorder to be at the right place, height and steady so it made sense to use a tripod. This came in a handy travel bag and can be folded and unfolded in seconds. I thought it would be very flimsy and cheap for the price, but was pleasantly surprised. This would be an excellent buy if you wanted a tripod to take on your travels - it's very lightweight. Most modern camcorders and many standard cameras fit this tripod. Would definately recommend.

I bought this because i wanted a compact tripod that I could fit in my bag whilst keeping costs down as I already have a larger, more sturdy tripod.
I'm currently using a (DSLR) Pentax K-x with various lenses and it holds it fine however I wouldn't walk away from it unless it's feet were wedged in somehow.
For it's cheap price and size it is ideal for traveling because you can easily get it in your bag and weighs very little but only buy this if you are looking for something small to get those extra few shots.

In terms of scale this is a lightweight tripod. It seems a little flimsy until you extend it and stand it on its own feet. The tripod then becomes a useful tool from which you can take decent pictures.

My older tripods were made to support BIG and HEAVY Cameras. Todays lightweight cameras do not need the volume of scaffolding to support them.

I am truly glad that they do not. I am glad because the act of going out to shoot pictures has become a delight instead of a chore.

A useful and LIGHTWEIGHT TRIPOD.

This tripod is exceptionally light and unfortunately came damaged with a snapped plastic joint supporting the camera platform making the item unusable. Supplier readily agreed to replace and I am waiting for replacement. No idea how it is manufactured and sold for this price and assuming it arrives intact it has to be a good buy. I need it for indoor use mainly for filming the children so it will do the job. Beware DELICATE IT IS!!! If I find myself using it a lot will consider a more expensive sturdy one but it may well do the job.

The tripod is surprisingly light and strong, packs into a small carry case so is easily portable and at the price is excellent value for money. It was delvered within 3 days.

This tripod is compact, lightweight and cheap. So it makes a great tripod for taking on a trip. Of course, the compromise you make for this is that the tripod is not very high or particularly strong. So it will not support a spotting scope, for example. However, it will be fine for compact digital or bridge cameras and modern, small video cameras, so long as you don't mind bending over a bit and are not trying to use it in a high wind.
