This TOSLINK optical cable works well, and is flexible enough to be routed into most cable tidying systems. But it is not the most durable optical cable I have.
The plug body has a rounded square section measuring about 13mm by 13mm, and it will just squeeze through a 15mm diameter round hole. The cable itself is just under 4mm in diameter.
The small protective clear soft rubbery-plastic end-caps might fool those not knowing what the end of an optical cable should look like, and having been removed to enable the cable to be used will soon be lost after the cable has been plugged in. If the cable is to be unplugged and stored and re-plugged it should have captive and easily re-fitted end-caps to prevent damage to the delicate fibre tips when the cable is not in use.
I would have liked to see more strain relief where the cable enters the connector, but again if it is to be merely installed and never disturbed then this is OK. My pair of these are hidden in wall ducts linking the players to the surround amplifier
I would not choose this as a patch cable for repeated plug-unplug operations, and for that usage would recommend considering the more durable and end-cap-ergonomic type of optical cable such as that found in this kit
This is a good budget cable for fixed installations.
