Product Description
This Neet HD product allows you to extend your HDMI cable range up to 60 metres (at 1080i) by using Ethernet Cat5e or Cat6 network cables (Note: Good quality and preferably shielded cables are recommended for reliable performance). This type of cable (most common to computer networking) is relatively cheap to buy and is also readily available. It is relatively thin, flexible and easy to feed throughout any installation network and can also be easily self terminated so lengths can be tailored to meet the exact requirements of any home or commercial HD installation. The source HDMI cable plugs into the transmitter unit HDMI input... then 2 x Cat-5e / Cat-6 cables are used to send the HD signal to the receiver unit in lengths up to 60m for 480p or 1080i (eg Sky HD) or 30m for Full HD 1080p... then another HDMI cable is used from the receiver unit to the HDMI input of the HDTV, monitor or projector display device... simple. Note: In order to achieve reliable transmission and pure HD picture quality we highly recommend using SHIELDED CAT-5e or CAT-6 cable. As with most AV cables, lower quality cables may not achieve reliable performance over the long distance ... Of course, we also strongly recommend using high quality HDMI cables no matter what length you are running at each end... Great product that does what it should - two Cat5/6 cables over a long distance, HDMI input at one end and the same output at the other.
I ran two CAT-6 cables (Gigatrue from Blackbox) to make sure, to a distance of 22 metres (44 metres of cable). I haven't needed the power supply at the receiver, possibly because of the quality of my Cat-6 cable or because 22 metres is just under the distance where you might.
The quality of the picture at the far end is the same as a 1m HDMI cable would be. These units are similar in appearance to other products on the market but for the price charged, they do the job with no power needed (in my install) and the picture is perfect. I will certainly be buying more for other rooms.
Not sure if it's mentioned anywhere here, but the instructions don't appear to - the CAT5/6 cables should be wired as 568B terminations at each end, so standard 'patch' network cable terminations.

Equipment: Philips 9664 42" tv, Philips 8404 32" tv and a Sky HD stb. Like many of you I scanned the 'net for weeks reading reviews, looking at prices and finally took the plunge and bought these along with 15m cat6 cables and a hdmi splitter plus whitline hdmi cables. Order placed on Thursday afternoon and my order arrived Saturday morning. Excellent delivery service. Connected up and switched on my Sky box and then the two tv sets, one close by the other in the kitchen 12 metres away. At first the picture had a green tint so I unplugged the power adapter from the hdmi splitter and then back on again, perfect picture, perfect sound. HD picture was excellent on both tv's and no lip sync problems on either tv. I didn't need to use the 5v power source on the extender but you do need to use it on the hdmi switch. If your on the market for this type of equipment buy this. Fully satisfied with my purchase.

I combined this with an HDMI splitter from Neet to take the output from my Virgin Media box to two TV's, one close by the other about 30 metres away. The Neet products arrived promptly and worked well. Picture quality on furthest away HDTV is superb, far better than any of the wireless devices I tried. You do need 2 cat5e cables to complete the job but these are not difficult to source.
