If you're a Goon fan then you already know how this goes. If you're not then try to be, because they invented today's off-the-wall humour. Without them Monty Python, At Last The 1948 Show, etc. even Round The Horne to some extent would probably not have evolved and not led on to todays' more zany humour. Spike's sense (or nonsense) of the sublimely ridiculous and surreal comedy was captured completely and perfectly by Peter Sellers and Harry Secombe - and in the beginning by Michael Bentine who went on to invent his own sense of lunacy. The three Goons conjure up an alternate universe where anything can happen - and usually does. Listen to these episodes and you'll be transported into another existence and for a while you'll become part of Goonworld and you won't see things in quite the same way again. I tried to do a review of this cd but how do you describe comedy brilliance where the normal boundaries don't apply. Like I said at the beginning, if you're a Goon fan you know how good this is. If you don't know them, then give it a go. You may be pleasantly surprised - especially at the price I paid for it!
