  • True Driver's Experience – A variety of visual cues delivers the true driver's experience including a three-dimensional HUD that mimics driver head movement, inertia and G-forces. The depth of field also adjusts based on the speed of the car
  • So when the car is travelling at high speeds the perspective will shift to the distance putting the car/cockpit out of focus
  • Enhanced AI – A sophisticated AI system will mean that your races are more exciting than ever before. AI opponents will react and perform based on the player's aggression and overall driving skill thus creating race experiences for all skill sets
  • Dynamic Crash Effect - When the player hits a static object or opponent car, the player will feel like they are 'taking damage'. A combination of visual and audio effects will leave the player disorientated and briefly disrupt the race
  • Total Customisation – Need for Speed SHIFT features a comprehensive customization option that lets the player tailor every aspect of the cars performance and styling. Go under the hood to upgrade and tune your vehicle to increase its performance. The visual customization system allows players to personalize both the exterior and trick out the interior to reflect their individual style and preferences
  • Photo Real Cars and Tracks – Nearly 70 licensed cars are available including the Pagani Zonda F, Audi RS4, and Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. There is also over 15 real-world locations like Willow Springs and Laguna Seca as well as fictional circuits like downtown London and Tokyo
  • Additional gameplay features including career mode to be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June 2009.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best racer for the PSP 31 Dec 2009
Platform for Display:Sony PSP
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The game play is superb, the cars are great fun and the soundtrack is excellent. I've played Turismo, Ridge Racer, F1, Motorstorm, Cars, Wipeout, Midnight Club, Burnout, Driver 76, Nascar, Sega Rally, TOCA, Dirt 2, Test Drive, Asphalt Urban, Fast & Furious and the previous NFS games but this for me is the best racer for the PSP, I love this game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best PSP Need for speed yet. 21 Oct 2009
Platform for Display:Sony PSP
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game bears no resemblance whatsoever to the Xbox 360 and Ps3 games of the same name. There is no circuit racing at all (although the menu system is very much like a simplified Pro-street). the game is very much inner city racing and still implements the same features as earlier nfs games eg. speed camera races, checkpoint, sprints and races against a rival at the end of each series. what it does feature at it's core is a solid racing experience with nice tap the ebrake drifty handling although very arcadey (think Juiced meets Midnight club). Theres no car selection or tuning this time as cars and tuning options are automatically obtained and installed as you progress, which might dissapoint some. Visuals are fine for the PSP, although car models are a little simplified. If you like arcade racing and want another mindless (old school) NfS fix this won't dissapoint, Just dont expect anything like Shift.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHIFT 23 Jun 2010
By Mike
Platform for Display:Sony PSP
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Unlike many previous NFS games, "SHIFT" has certain aspects which make it both fun to play, sometimes challenging, and something that someone could play for hours on end without getting too bored. There are many exciting cars to drive in SHIFT, including the Koenigsegg CCX, the Lanborghini Murcielago, and Gallardo, the Audi R8, Shelby GT500, the Bugatti Veyron and the BMW M3 GT2. Each has its own characteristic making it better or just different to other cars on the game, adding a more enjoyable effect as you try to unlock these high class cars. Many previous NFS games, such as CARBON and Most Wanted, customisation of your own cars went further than it should and even the ride height could be changed to whatever height you wanted and the windows could be tinted to whatever colour you liked. SHIFT is more different though allowing cars only to be customised once a certain number of races have been completed however it does not allow you too change the engine capacity for example once the tuning modification has been unlocked. One thing it does allow you to change though is the body kit. Once this modification has been unlocked, you are shown an image of the kit design and can choose whether to have it or not just by pressing the square button. All in all, Shift is certainly one of the best games to be featured on the PSP, I think maybe even on par with the famous Gran Tourismo.

Compared to playing it on XBOX, the graphics are not very good.
The quality is low, however, I still enjoy playing it.
