This game is what you expect it to be like from the moment that driver feels a need to grab throttle!

I think handling has been fine-tuned by Criterion to the point where it feels like speed affects this vehicle steering mechanism as you go faster. You will be caught up in uncontrollable cars as you remain impatient to jack them under control and hit the billboard ramps. It is easy to get involved with pursuits from the main plot as you discover how to be the most wanted.

There are many interesting features to constantly keep you occupied at any moment as I explore the world. The driver's car list is updated while discovering new wheels and it becomes extremely massive as you are warped to drive from the many parking spot locations to choose from. Whilst driving along the vast road system you can also divert to off-road construction zones from cops that will hesitate to track you unless the heat level has been raised enough for 4x4 SUV that have a licence gone rampage.

Police are tougher to get loose from the start if you become an out of control and clumsy driver. You can also configure control settings from the pause menu to use any game pad besides a USB Xbox 360 controller. Handling improves as you find better cars that suite your handling to pull out 180 degree power slides through tunnels and get out in the open against cops.

Online abilities include activating this game from EA through the Origin Client using an account set-up to register. Once this has been achieved the game automatically enables Cloud Game Saves which can be controlled by a user every time when logging on to start the game from Origin. New Autolog challenges get set out similar to Need For Speed World as you drive to find racers and earn more Speed Points in succession.

Do you have what it takes to become Most Wanted? Designed for a new, more connected generation of racing fans, Need for Speed Most Wanted offers players an expansive open world packed with exhilarating action where they can choose their own path to become the Most Wanted.

As with all sandbox games the narrative is of your own making but this is even more true of Most Wanted. The side-effect is that it can feel aimless at times. If you desire structure, if you wanted a game to be meted out to you, you might find its instant freedom somewhat overwhelming. But Most Wanted is all about deviation and deviance. It’s the racing game for people who don’t tend to like racing games. You’re not punished for missing that apex or abandoning that nagging racing line. It’s undoubtedly one of the year’s most exhilarating experiences.

4.0 out of 5 stars Need for Speed to Buy or Not to Buy? 4 Nov. 2012
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I've got a Need for Speed! What can I say for the last 3 years the Need for Speed series has been satisfyingly awesome and this years Most Wanted is no different.

Upon installing I found myself in the middle of the City of Fairhaven with more than 120 cars at my disposal, I already had a few friends who set records online and I found myself speeding around trying to beat there high scores.

Its not usually that I am this excited when reviewing a game but MFSMW is great and the free roaming environment feels quite similar to that of Burnout. You will find yourself at home with the Autolog 2 interface and in no time you'll want to own the streets.

The selection of cars is brilliant from Maserati to bespoke classics there are enough cars to keep you on your toes. There are a variety of upgrade and car packs which give you enough freedom to express your Car Fetishes and as you have over 120 to choose from, from the start of the game you really have a lot of choice.

Compared to last years the run this game is a real change if pace from last gears more arcade story based iteration and this change of pace really serves the game well and although there are no emps you find unlocks like re-inflating tyres the difference between losing the law and getting locked up. The chases are quite similar to the original Most Wanted in the late 90's and will see you out running regular police, swat teams and many others.

The games graphics are truly beautiful, I've played the game on both PC and PS3 and the PC's graphics are leaps and bounds above the consoles. The city looks great, cars have been faithfully reproduced and the engine looks as fresh as ever. You will love every minute if this game.

3.0 out of 5 stars What's happened to NFS? 1 Dec. 2012
Platform for Display:PC|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I'm a massive fan of the NFS titles and so was really looking forward to this release, unfortunately this incarnation does not live up to the likes of NFS Underground or the original Most Wanted. Criterion have removed one of the biggest features that made most of the other games so much fun..... No customisation of your rides looks and no real story element either. The games designers have basically just taken Burnout and slapped the ability to discover and "steal" any car you want so you end up with Need For Speed - Burnout Edition. Whilst the gameplay is fun and the core game is ok to play for a while it just doesn't feel like a Need For Speed game to me.
Fun for a while but soon looses its polish.
