2.0 out of 5 stars Need for Speed - Most Disappointed! 14 Nov 2012

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
With the hype and the fact that Criterion were the developers working on this one, as a fan of Need for Speed, Burnout and arcade racers in general, I was really looking forward to spending hours on end with my friends racing in Fairhaven. Sadly, that's not going to be the case.

Graphics are not as sharp as NFS The Run or Burnout and even then, the game suffers from slow down. Fairhaven is pretty enough, but never makes you go 'wow!'. The 'jackspot' idea sounds great in theory, but in practice, really kills any feeling of progression or achievement. There is no penalisation for being busted by the police, making them more of an annoyance than a threat. Without even the slightest hint of a story, the game feels quite soulless. Races are generally boring and tricky to navigate with the markers not being clear enough and this took me to the point where it was so dull, I couldn't be bothered to compete against my friends via Autolog.

Multiplayer isn't much better. The challenges are confusing and are not much fun to play. Also, there are no police in multiplayer mode!

A game has been hailed as a mix of Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, NFS Most Wanted sounds like a great idea at first, but the problem is it does nothing to improve on those games; in fact it is worse - lacking the sheer speed of Burnout and the exciting chases of Hot Pursuit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not even a copy. 21 Nov 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Limited Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I am a massive fan of Most Wanted - the first game under this title, so as soon as I ve heard about this release I spent £40 to pre order.
Frankly, yes, I expected more of the same and why not? NfS MW was a fabulous game with nice story line, funny cocky dialogues, good looking girls, music, great races and the best of all police chases...... Only one thing remained here: good races, but only until some point. After some point you get the same race, just the car is different :(
I own it over 2 weeks now so I believe I may say few things,
Good:
1. lots of cars
2. many races and quite difficult, but not impossible to win
Bad:
1. No storyline at all.
2. Very poor customization of the ride.
3. Changed police chases, i.e. you dont know how many coppers remained to get rid of...... even if police cant see you and they are within a circle the chase continues (I spent once 8 min in a hideout, not bothered by police, but the clock was ticking..... wtf?)
4. Not competitive at all - you can literally go to the top of the list within hours and get all the cars as easy :(

I know I am only one customer, but I wont buy any new game from EA, they keep destroying games: make a copy of a copy..... pathetic. And charge you £40 for it. 10 quid is all (at most) this game is worth.

If you ever played NfS MW before, dont buy it, you you didnt, buy 1st MW and then .... dont buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty poor effort 3 Nov 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Limited Edition
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
This game seems to mix Burnout Paradise with NFS: Hot Pursuit, but doesn't come close to bettering either of those games. The police chases are simply dull, there's none of the epic battles you can have in Hot Pursuit, they seem to be over pretty quickly, the police either loose sight of you or they 'box' you in and it all ends in an anti climactic fashion of you being busted which doesn't come with any penalty, it almost seems the police were an after thought. Oh yeh and there's no Cops V Robbers online, and no police appear in online sessions either.

One big complaint I have is that there's no epic crashes, they are all pretty much the same, or exactly the same, there's NO crash cam. The only way to enjoy the crashes of the police or a rival that you've taken out is to look behind you, which usually results in you crashing. Crash damage is minimal, cars don't crumple or mangle like they did in Paradise. I think the manufactures didn't let them mangle the cars much (pathetic), the bumpers will hang off, wheels buckle and windows break and a few dents appear. Nothing like the awesome destruction in the previous Burnout Paradise which had so much variation in damage physics. The damage here is all very much scripted.

I got bored of multiplayer quickly, it descends into bumper cars mostly and might appeal to those who like to just mess around with their friends, king of the hill was fun. EA's Autolog is back and it's as intrusive and annoying as ever!

Overall I'd recommend picking up Burnout Paradise or Hot Pursuit (or both as they very cheap now) or wait till this game drops to a more sensible price of around £15. There's far better value to be had with your £37 with games like Dishonored, Halo 4, Assassins Creed 3 all out this month.

This game is very similar to Burnout Paradise except not as much an arcade game, the sound from the cars are very realistic and the cars look fantastic.
