Well as i didn't need yet another boring burnout on ps3 i decided to go for the wii version of hot pursuit and i'm glad i did as this game is not the poor version everyone seems to be making it out to be.
So to address some points.....
Many are saying that this has poor graphics, well no it doesn't in fact It's pretty nice to be honest and is lovely and smooth to play with a nice speedy framerate and is one of the better looking wii games out there.
As to it having no online play to be honest i couldn't care less, in fact it's nice to see a game that you can play alone or with some friends split screen (something you cannot do on the ps3 and 360 versions of the game!) instead of having every thing geared towards online stuff.
As for not being able to play as a cop well yes you can, It's called intercepor and it is great fun smashing into the racers at daft speeds.
The roads and environments you race on are nigh on a carbon copy of san francisco rush on the nintendo 64, Come to think of it the whole game has a retro feel about it but with some interesting weapon type pick ups to keep it fresh, Love the cruise Control one where you have a perfect auto pilot for a time so you can nitro through a tight corner at a ridiculously high speed with perfect control.
Career mode is nice and entertaining, throw in the paint and custom options for your cars and you have a good solid game thats fun to play and to be honest is one of the best racers ive played for a while on any system.
It isn't without it's faults, like nitro before it there is still no in car or bumper view nor is there a replay mode which for me is the biggest disappointment as it would be cool to watch yourself avoiding the cops or vice versa hence the 4 stars of the review.
So in summary if you just want a fun game that doesn't rely on online for it's fun then give it a go, ok it isn't need for speed as i know it (harks back to the original on 3do, (God i miss brennan!), And hot pursuit on ps1) but when it's fun to play then that's good enough for me.
4 solid stars.
