Manufacturer's Description

In Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, gamers will race the open world across the real world inspired cities of Chongqing, Dubai, Rio de Janeiro and Las Vegas. Players must battle it out until the finish line to prove their racing skills and earn bounty to become the most notorious street racer.

Of course, as the player’s bounty increases, the cop AI adds to the mayhem as they set up road blockades and engage in adrenaline-fueled high-speed pursuits in an attempt to take out the racers. Player’s can further amp up the intensity by battling up-to-four friends via split screen.

Whether it’s with the Wii remote, nunchuck, the classic controller or the Gamecube controller, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit lets gamers race it their way. All this combined with fresh modes and tracks make Need for Speed Hot Pursuit one of the most exciting, heart-pounding arcade racers for the Wii.

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Well as i didn't need yet another boring burnout on ps3 i decided to go for the wii version of hot pursuit and i'm glad i did as this game is not the poor version everyone seems to be making it out to be.
So to address some points.....
Many are saying that this has poor graphics, well no it doesn't in fact It's pretty nice to be honest and is lovely and smooth to play with a nice speedy framerate and is one of the better looking wii games out there.
As to it having no online play to be honest i couldn't care less, in fact it's nice to see a game that you can play alone or with some friends split screen (something you cannot do on the ps3 and 360 versions of the game!) instead of having every thing geared towards online stuff.
As for not being able to play as a cop well yes you can, It's called intercepor and it is great fun smashing into the racers at daft speeds.
The roads and environments you race on are nigh on a carbon copy of san francisco rush on the nintendo 64, Come to think of it the whole game has a retro feel about it but with some interesting weapon type pick ups to keep it fresh, Love the cruise Control one where you have a perfect auto pilot for a time so you can nitro through a tight corner at a ridiculously high speed with perfect control.
Career mode is nice and entertaining, throw in the paint and custom options for your cars and you have a good solid game thats fun to play and to be honest is one of the best racers ive played for a while on any system.
It isn't without it's faults, like nitro before it there is still no in car or bumper view nor is there a replay mode which for me is the biggest disappointment as it would be cool to watch yourself avoiding the cops or vice versa hence the 4 stars of the review.

A lot of people are complaning that this game is rubish well I disagree. It's not as good as it is in the other conseals, but it has split scren witch none of the consloes have and is much more fun playing against someone you know. Also it is greet using the wii wheel its more realistic and fun. This is a grret game. I recomand it as a upgrade for those who find mario karts to easy.

3.0 out of 5 stars PURSUIT NOT SO HOT 2 Feb 2011
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Feels like game was thought up on a Friday afternoon after a liquid lunch.
Has the potential to be a great racing game but....
The screen is too busy.
There are too many pick-ups (supe-ups).
The career seems to be short, compared with NFS NITRO.
If you havn't bought NITRO then buy it instead!
If you already own NITRO, then you will be slighlty disappointed with HOT PURSUIT.
Fairly good game, but nothing to get excited about.

1.0 out of 5 stars This description is a lie 19 Nov 2010
Platform for Display:Nintendo Wii
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
UPDATE: I contacted Amazon UK again and quoted the Trade Description Act and they have changed the description. The description above id no longer a lie. Hoorah!

As of 19/11/10, the description above is a lie.
It describes the PS3, XBox360 and PC versions of the game.
The Wii game is totally different.
The Wii game has been developed by another company. It is similar to Need for Speed Nitro which was released last year.
It does not have online play.
It does not have the Autolog feature.
It does not allow you to play as a cop.
It is not set in Seacrest.

It has had poor reviews from users on YouTube.

The description for the Wii version of this game is correct on Amazon.com, the American site.
You can see it here:

http://www.amazon.com/Need-Speed-Hot-Pursuit-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B003R79H7U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1290182430&sr=8-4

I informed Amazon.co.uk that the description was wrong and they blamed the developers and have not changed the description.

Do not buy this game thinking it is anything like the description above (as of 19/11/10).
