Product Description

Review

‘Since reading Lumley’s Necroscope series, I know that vampires really do exist.’ H.R. Giger

‘Like the vampires it so full-bloodedly portrays, Brian Lumley's Necroscope series just gets stronger. His lively mix of action and monstrosity transmutes the base cliché of the vampire and turns it into a wonderfully contemporary bane.’ Fear Magazine

A different turn 20 Jan 2012
Format:Paperback
I ummed and ahhed about what rating to give the third book in the Necroscope series. I prefer books 1,4 & 5 to this, but the thing is that it's different and therefore commands interest in its own right.

Taking a strangely scientific almost alternate reality/sci-fi aspect, the third book goes into some detail of how the vampires came about. To be honest, the first time I read it I didn't like it, but on re-reading, my opinion of it rose considrably.

The book is fascinating on several levels, and sets up a number of future novels, including an entire spin-off series. A solid instalment in the series.

This third installment of The Necroscope saga will not let down those of you who have read the first two and been mesmerised by them. This third edition is completely different from the previous two, taking the reader into a new and completely different direction and dimension! If you have read the last two books in this 5 book serious, you have got to read this one!

The third book in the series, brings the Russians, E-branch and Harry Keogh to a confrontation with the source world of the vampires, the book is split into two stories which meld together in a blinding culmination of magic, blood and war. I found that this book did not grip me as much as Necroscope, but still held me reading until the last page. The details that Brian brings to his books is such that they could be considered documentarys on actual events.
