Rather good ;) 30 Jun 2011

You guessed it, this book is about Zombies, living it up in Birmingham. The usual rules apply, a virus is released or germ....causing the entire population of Birmingham to die....well, almost. The army have sealed off the area and sent in a crack team to find one rather important person. The people and zombies want out and the army want to keep them in. Add to this mixture a group of criminals wanting to get into Birmingham, and it all boils down to the knitty gritty of blood guts and a chorus of moans. Did the criminals take on to much to chew? Its worth the read, and rather refreshing in parts!
Worth four stars ;) If you like zombies/horror and a few twists in the story, this book is calling out to be read ;) Rather good ;)

Zombie-Tastic 17 Jan 2011
By M. Dowden HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE

As the other reviewer points out, zombie books are very thick on the ground, and lets face it the majority are just pure trash pulp. It makes a change then to come across something that has been thought out, and indeed this tale would make a great movie.

With a plot to infect and manipulate a government computer things would seem bad enough for a gang of cyber criminals, they can't just send a virus over the internet, they have to get themselves inside the building. However this has all been planned for, and there is a very large payoff when they complete it. Things alas go wrong, when at the last minute, the city they need to go to, Birmingham, is sealed off. With the army in control of Birmingham, the gang have to change their plans somewhat. But what is happening in Birmingham, and why is it closed off?

At the same time, a special ops unit is sent into the area, to find a person and extract them, as the city has become plagued with the un-dead. Will either group be able to complete their separate tasks as the zombie horde marches through the city, mindlessly killing anything still alive?

This is more than an average zombie horror, there is lots of action as well as being a thriller.

Nowadays zombie books, like zombie movies, are ten a penny, so something really special has to come along before it stands knee head to the rest of the crowd, never mind head and shoulders above. The good news is Necropolis Rising, does indeed stand head and shoulders above the rest of the zombie fare. It's like the zombie film you wish Romeo would make. Fingers crossed he, or someone else, one day will make a film of this one. Until then enjoy the class read.

Disappointing plot, distracting typography mistakes
Given the number of 5-star reviews this piece has won, I must say I was extremely disappointed with what I got.
