4.0 out of 5 stars GOOD HOLOCAUST REFERENCE 9 Jun 2007
By Severin Olson - Published on Amazon.com
As the subtitle suggests, the book concentrates on World War II and the Jewish extermination, and I must say the last part on the holocaust was the best. The first half or so, while accurate enough, is nothing more than a basic history lesson. Only those with little or no knowledge of the war will find it useful. The second half is a different story. It covers the holocaust, providing chilling details of what happened and just how it took place. The murders began with Einsatzgruppen shootings, then moved to gasing in vans, and finally to the death camps. I knew a good deal about this already but learned a lot more here. The maps and appendixes helped as well.
