the item is good but has a few problems

1. it is not as fast as tom tom to pick up satellites

2. when it does pick them up it takes time to calculate route

3. the routing options are never the best and always requires some local knowledge if you are to get somewhrer on time.

4. it crashes all the time, especially when you are trying to make changes to a journey.

5. batteries on pda run out after 2.5 hours so if you dont take your car charger (or dont have a cigarette lighter) you'll be in trouble. (battery extenders are available on ebay)

6. batteries run out on the navman unit every 30 hours and it begins to go funny when they run low.

all in all, buy the tom tom bluetooth attachment if you have to. Otherwise a standalone tom tom 300 will set you back around 250 and is a much better idea.

I have had the product nearly 2 years now and was initially really pleased. Although I had the pan-european maps when I bought the product, I had to pay an additional fee to activate the french map. This I did in July 2006 with some reluctance as I had assumed that since I bought the CDs, I could actually use them! I used the french option in August and found the maps hopelessly out of date. I contacted Navman to ask about updates and was told to visit the Navman store. Software for my Palm T3 was not listed. I emailed them and was told that they were no longer supporting the T3. Confusing or what? I still haven't resolved the problem.
