Superb SAT NAV for peanuts, 17 Mar 2004
This review is from: Navman 4400 Bluetooth GPS (Electronics)
After slight confusion on setup procedures, the unit is working beautifully. My own fault as I did not read the instructions. Hardware setup is taken care of by Bluetooth as one would expect, but software set-up is required, and there are some procedures that are required for day to day use.
Once up and running the software and the aid of Bluetooth is the best marriage between two items I have used. The connection between the GPS and iPAQ is solid.
The real surprise is the software. The software is so clear and so responsive that even the worst drivers can follow instructions. It is very easy to navigate and use. I love the point of interests, where petrol pumps, post offices, banks, eat outs, etc are highlighted. I love the voice prompts as it guides you along with clear instructions, even re-routes if wrong turning is made. Maps can be switched from birds-eye view to 3D. The complete SAT NAV is extremely accurate and very fast. The GPS tracks with superb precision.
Complete European maps are available - these will need to be downloaded. It is advisable one gets at least 128mb SD card, as the unit is not supplied with one.
The contents in the box are all a driver and a traveler can ask for.
This is so good on the very first use, that I ditched all my maps. Unbelievable value when you consider an in-car SAT NAV costs >£1000.
