One of the problems with the Garmin is how to carry it. I use my eTrex quite often on my mountain bike with a handlebar fixture. However, when walking I have always found a problem of where to put the GPS. The Navitech pouch solves this problem with a belt clip. I have found the belt clip to be secure enough not to worry about losing my GPS but easy enough to unclip to check on position. The vertical alignment of the GPS seems to help with keeping the signal. Altogether a very useful bit of kit which I wish I had bought sooner.

Since my first etrex went tumbling down Grib Goch, I have secured my garmin in this case and this is my second one. Does the perfect job for me. I secure it by passing the bottom leash through itself and around my belt or harness. Never had problem since.

I have owned a Garmin e-Trex since 2004, and the previous leather case disintegrated after 7 years almost weekly use. This new one is identical. It's very useful because you can clip the Garmin to your rucksack strap (fix a cable tie loop to the strap) and it keeps the Garmin in contact with the satellites. If you keep the Garmin in your pocket it loses contact, so the only alternative to this is to put the lanyard over your head and have it swinging around on your chest. The transparent plastic window gets 'steamed up' when it rains, but you can always lift the Garmin out to look at it.

Garmin GPS Carry Case
The case is well made and has attachments for a lanyard or clip to a belt. The GPS fits well and all the controls are easily reachable. All in all good value for money.

You can't use the GPS while in this case.

E-Trex Case
Protects all it should for a reasonable price. Replacement for one that was getting a little tierd after about 3 years
