If you're looking to avoid mounting your sat nav on the windscreen (i.e. in your field of view when driving) then this device may be worth a try but just be aware that it is not a well-made, solid, dependable platform. It's a low cost plastic moulded solution that relies on sprung plastic clips gripping the flimsy, plastic fins on your vehicle's air vents. By its very nature this isn't going to be 100% reliable but it works well enough with the relatively light Nuvi 3790T in my BMW 3 Series - until you jog it with a knee or other appendage or drive over a bump, which is inclined to dislodge the clips and results in the Sat Nav either hanging down or falling off completely. The device does not come with instructions or even a diagram, which is fine if you are technically minded, but not very helpful if you aren't (so look at the picture on the website before attempting to assemble it). The clips themselves have to be inserted into the centre of the slot at the top of the mount and slid into place either side. It's only an interference fit, they don't click into position on anything, so any shock loading will be inclined to dislodge or rotate them. The v-shaped lower support has to be pressed into postion on the back of the mounting plate (requires some force!) in one of two locations (to suit your airvent). It is designed to pivot once fitted, which can also contribute to the instability of the device when subjected to bumps or sudden loading.
