As I am planning a trial use of these tablets in my school so I bought one case of each colour to see how they looked. I was amazed at the brightness of them. Although I prefer the more conservative black, with white stitching, for my personal use, the other colours were very popular when I showed them to my colleagues.
The case worked very well and I have since had my school order a further 70 cases of all colours for the school tablets. The children were very excited by the bright colours available and struggled to make their personal choices, wishing they could have a different coloured case for each day!
I flip the cover to use the stand position in the lower angle, as you have a choice of a more upright stand position as well. It is also in and out of my large (overfilled at times), handbag as well. It looks just like new, there is no wear or tear on this even tho' I am opening and closing the stand and the actual case, often many times a day. It is strong but not too bulky or heavy with easy access to all the bits for charging etc.
I would definitely recommend without hesitation, it is brilliant quality and for the price you just cannot go wrong.
The only thing I would like as an extra is more variety in colours and patterns/ designs.
Thanks I LOVE IT!
Looked at all the available cases and was not too impressed with the rotating ones. I also was not keen on those cases where the front cover folds. I think it looks smarter with a nice smooth cover without rigde lines down it.
So I wanted one that could stand using its front as a stand.
Many other kinds of case did this but did it by essentially using two cases. One for the tablet and one for the front and back layers. Velcro'd together. This meant that you ended up with two layers of casing to the back of the tablet and ended up with a big fat fatty. This also often causes problems with using the camera as two layer of leather are fairly deep and obscure some of the cameras view. Especially if not perfectly lined up.
So of the cases that, like this one, use a corner clipping system, where you unclip the two inside corners and with the fold across the back layer lean the case into the front cover. Some use metal clips and can waer on the tablet. This one however is entirely cased in leather and so much better protects the parts of the device that come in and out of contact with the case. This also applies to the clip that lips the edge of the table to keep the case closed.
So this case for me seemed to be the best option.
Slimmest option for a folding leather case.
Fold creases are to the back so the overall look is cleaner.
Stands into its solid front cover so has great stability.
Clips are properly covered with leather to prevent marking.
Doesn't obscure the camera view at all.
Oh and theres a little elastic loop on the spine for holding a stylus.
The only downside I can see is that the inside lining is a light grey suede. And while nice to the touch, it is a bit too light and is getting quite obviously mucky very fast. A darker colour would have helped with this.
Only niggle though.
However I bought this for my Samsung Tab 2 (i.e. a P3110) and the cover doesn't fit it properly. As it is advertised for "the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Plus Android 3.2 Tablet" I cannot therefore give it more than 2 stars. Most of the holes are in approximately the right place but the killer is the volume control. There is no way I can adjust the tab in the case so that the control clears the hole. The case fouls the top of the control and is constantly pressing the volume to max as a consequence. Maybe different models have subtly different cases - I know that some non-UK models have infra-red for example and the UK ones don't. I did also find it hard to touch-drag to the extreme sides of the screen (as when dragging home panel icons to the next panel for example) but maybe all book-style covers have that issue to some extent.
This will have to go back unfortunately.
#EDIT: I have now had a dialogue with the vendors, who have been understanding and helpful, and I understand they will be amending their listing to make it clear that the sleeve does not fit this particular model (GT-3110). On that basis I have changed the rating to 4* which better reflects the product#
