i bought this item about a month ago.
i was looking for smth cheap with european maps cause soon i'm going to travel, so i bought this one and so far i.m very happy with the purchase. it does what it says, real view is great, bluetooth works perfect with my sony ericsson, and my husband nokia. it was 150£cheaper than my friend tomtom sat nav but does a lot more.
*Text to Speech (announces the respective road names in route descriptions and driving instructions)
*Reality View Pro (realistic display of motorway juncitons and exits)
    *Lane Assistant Pro
*Traffic information available via integrated TMC
    *Radar Info
    *Smart-Speller
    *Speed Assistant
    *Autoswitch Day & Night Mode
*More than 2 million points of interest (POI)
*Intuitive user interface * 4.3" touchscreen display in 16:9 format
*Map of Europe with 40 european countries
    *picture viewer

downside: you have to pay a lot for for maps update, but my sat came with free traffic information, free radar info, and discount for map update ( so for now it was only 20£ for map update for 2 years)

i really like my navigon, hope it will not disappoint me on my journey around europe. in GB it works very well.

I've had the Navigon for a few months now and it works well. I was initially concerned about getting it because I was warned I would need an external aerial because my car has an athermic windscreen. This proved to be no problem. Within 60 seconds of switching it on in the car, it had found enough satellites to give me my position. While driving, I found the lane assist and reality views especially useful on tricky, unfamiliar motorway junctions and the bluetooth works fine with my Nokia. If not used for a week or so, it does sometimes fail to find my mobile and then freezes when asked to search for it but forcing a reboot with the 'Reset' button underneath seems to sort it out (I now keep a toothpick in the case for this purpose). For most driving, it seems to function well but on a couple of occassions it seems to have taken me to my destination by a rather roundabout route. This, however, seems to be the difference between sat-nav driving and local knowledge and I have read reviews of other makes that say the same. The text-to-speech function is quite useful but you need to select the correct voice in the settings (the one with TTS behind it) to activate this feature. I got a discounted map updates from Navigon but this is not as straightforward as their website makes out. First, I have had no e-mail notices about updates as claimed, even though there have been at least two since I got the gadget. When I try to update manually through NavigonFresh, there is insufficient space on the memory card to accommodate all the updates and you have to select which countries you want to update.
Overall, however, it performs well. The maps look good, it updates quickly and it has a number of features that would cost you considerably more in equivalent models of several of the other popular brands.
