For an MLT book I was somehow expecting better than this. Its an okay book but could be a lot better. My biggest concern is that it glosses over route cards. Given that MLT is geared toward leading groups this is a vital area that needs considerably more attention, in my view a full chapter.
In summary, its adequate but it wouldnt be top of my reccomendation list.

Written by Carlo Forte - Navigation supremo at Plas y Brenin. What could be better and whom more well informed? Even if you have been navigating for years it is worth refreshing your practice which can become sloppy. Great book/guide.

I completed a navigation course with 'Pure Outdoors' who are brilliant, and they recommend this book to me and other people on the course. It is a great book. Easy to follow and put into practise.

Recommended to anyone interested in increasing their knowledge in the hills or pursuing their ML qualification. Easy to read and a useful resource to dip in and out of.

The book is easy to understand with a very good layout and design. Other books are either far too basic or go far too into complicated theory. Keep it simple, succinct with basic maps and diagrams - very good.

For anyone of any ability - a great addition to the 'reference' library. Ideal size and weight to take to the hills.

An average nav book trying to use the one of five official books to make you think its a must have to take the various mountain awards,
To many diagrams featuring Harveys maps which are ok but hardly anyone uses them as they only cover parts of the uk and are easily torn, but probably sponsored by Harveys,

The G P S feature is ok but you really need a dedicated G P S book of which many are available here, it features garmin G P S so another sponsorship deal? nothing wrong with Garmin but what about the other excellant G P S products,
Its a bit of this and that here and there,

The pictures/diagrams are almost all old and in the Hillwalkers by steve long which of course is one of the five! if you have the Hillwalkers manual you will have seen the pictures and read some of the text, The average book.
