NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) is more than just an action drama. With liberal doses of humour, it's a show that focuses on the sometimes complex and always amusing dynamics of a team forced to work together in high-stress situations. The fourth season of NCIS begins with one of the investigators being charged with assassinating an Iranian prisoner. Former Mossad intelligence agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) has been framed, and there's only one man who can clear her name. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents travel the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps links. All 24 episodes are included in this six-disc box set, which also includes commentaries, a Q&A session with the cast members and an interesting look at the props used on the show.

5.0 out of 5 stars NCIS' Best Season Yet! 31 May 2008
If you've seen all three previous seasons of NCIS, you'll know just how great it is, take that and add more action, more suprises, more intrique and mystery, and more humour, and you've got season 4.
Throughout season 4, Tony falls in love with a woman named Jeanne, Gibbs returns from Mexico and rejoins his team, Ziva's new love is short lived, Jenny leads the investigation into an illegal arms dealer, and Tony sings!
You won't be disappointed with another 24 episodes of brilliant NCIS, now just waiting for season 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a lot of fun 9 May 2009
I would never have expected to enjoy NCIS when I came (late) to the show. I find such series rather lame normally, with bad dialogue and very average acting but with NCIS, it is a different kettle of fish.First and although he's not a lot on screen, what a pleasure it is to see David Mc Callum.I can remember him from 'the men from UNCLE 'that I enjoyed a lot when I was little and it is great to have the opportunity to watch him again. Mark Harmon does a very good job as dour-faced, hard to please and yet vulnerable Gibbs. You can see how all of the team want to be appreciated and want to emulate him and you can understand them; he makes a more than presentable, even attractive boss with his obvious wounds that sometimes surface. I also find the banter between Ziva and Di Nozzo funny and the more they are on screen the better it is. There is quite a lot of light and shade with all the different protagonists and their quirks and it works very well.Even high- heeled, spider-tattoed, black-lipsticked, short-skirted,pigtailed Abby becomes endearing after a while. A light, entertaining show that's really worth watching.

5.0 out of 5 stars getting better and better 26 Jan 2009
By Akela
A wonderful show that does not lower its standards of acting, writing and plotting. Have all the existing seasons now and definitely waiting for more.
So refreshing to see somebody like Mark Harmon's Gibbs - old fashioned silent, strong type with an extra-dry sense of humor which nearly dissapeared from the screens.
The show also keeps a wonderful balance between the professional and personal - the personal interactions and problems are quite interesting and well developed without tilting too much onto the family/romance side. One of the greatest advantages of this show is that it is never sentimental, even when talking about quite moving matters. It is all dealt with tactfully and often funnily (when the subject permits it).
In short, definitely one of the best shows around - clever, witty, non-sentimental and refusing to slide into a TV screen buffonade (which some shows easily do).

4.0 out of 5 stars A funny, not humourous, mixed season****!!!!!!! 18 Nov 2008
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Seasons 1,2 & 3 were very good & quite humourous, but this season seems to lack the humour of the previous seasons, this is mainly due to Gibbs, initially leaving at the end of season 3 & now the appearance of Tony's new girlfriend & The Chiefs persuit of Le Frog, which has made this season darker than the previous ones, but thankfully Ducky, Ziva, Abby & Magee, have not been altered in any way, which remains the basic strength of this excellent series, hopefully season 5 will return to the humour of the 3 previous seasons, but this is still better than it's competition of the CSI's, especially Miami & New York let me know if you agree with me.

5.0 out of 5 stars NCIS How can you go wrong 9 Oct 2009
NCIS is simply the best series available on DVD. How can you go wrong with all hours of entertainment in 1 box. What more can be said about a series which has neither lapsed nor provided a dull moment through 3 previous series. The characters work extremely well together through scripts which are well written and always provide a good story which holds your attention. Acting is professional and the individual character stories do not get in the way of the main purpose of the episodes (to provide action drama), as has happened in many other series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better and better 5 July 2009
SEries 4 just gets better. Ziva is just brilliant. Abby never ceases to amuse me. Jethro - well what can I say - he is just so sexy!!! OK - but I'm nearer his age so you have to be realistic. Even the interplay betwen McGee and Tony is still on form. when he he stop being 'proby'? - never in Tony's eyes I suspect.

David McCallum - - still got it in him - the storylines are still good - and like all these shows my American is getting better by the minute. I can actually understand what they're saying most of the time now.

5.0 out of 5 stars A SEASON OF SECRETS 16 Jun 2009
The team is now led by DiNozzo for a short time until Gibbs' eventual return. New characters introduced in this season are Michelle Lee, who was briefly on DiNozzo's team and was transferred to the legal department upon Gibbs' return, and (already in the final episodes of season 3) Gibbs' former boss & mentor Mike Franks, both as recurring characters. Also, albeit later in the season, Army CID Lieutenant Colonel Hollis Mann is introduced as another love interest for Gibbs. The twist in the last episode is not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Internet shopping at it's best!! 4 Dec 2008
I ordered from Amazon for the first time and was delighted with the quality of the product, the speed of delivery, the excellent value for money and impressed with that fact that although I ordered before British vat was decreased I was charged with the new rate of 15%. In the words of Arnie "NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) Season 4I'll be back"
