Brilliant piece of equipment, once you get the hang of it (not too difficult though).
For anybody half interested in the night sky this is a very useful and instructive item.
It is NOT a telescope but simply a handy all year, all latitude star atlas.

Bought as a present for my husband who loved it. Already has a telescope but this is handy to just pick up and look at the sky with.

I bought this for my brother for his birthday. I was so pleased he loved it and has spent hours studying the sky (much to my sisiter-in -law's annoyance (oops!)

Bought this as a Christmas present for my husband. Arrived very quickly and was well packaged. This item is suitable for introducing youngsters or complete novices to the fun of astronomy. I would recommend this to other people.

In a word, useless. The image is far too small, and I found it impossible to keep the toy oriented correctly with one hand, whilst shining the little red torch into the end of the toy with the other. It's impossible to look with one eye through the toy, whilst gazing at the night sky with the other - one arm always gets in the way. Don't waste your money, buy a Philips Planisphere for half the cost, and get a more useful product.

This star finder is very limited.... its plastic drums feel cheap and the star maps on the tiny image screen are uninspiring. Fine for a child's first star map, but not otherwise

think will prove too complicated and fiddly for the 8 year old being given it, but what his mother suggested, very detailed and no doubt accurate, but feel is a bit complicated and take time to absorb instructions

Seems to be OK but the night sky is too cloudy at present to get the best use from it.
