Product Description

Product Description

The "Cobb" is perhaps the ultimate outdoor cooking system, and certainly much more than "just a barbecue"... IT DOESN'T SMOKE - the food is isolated from the charcoal, so fat does not drip onto it. IT CAN BE USED AS A CHARCOAL OVEN - delicious pizza in 15 minutes! IT REMAINS COOL TO THE TOUCH ON THE OUTSIDE - so it can be used on a table, or even a wooden deck, without causing any damage. IT ONLY NEEDS SIX BRIQUETTES to cook for up to four hours (ultra-efficient combustion control gives maximum heat from minimum fuel). IT IS SUPERBLY EASY TO CLEAN AND LONG-LASTING - all metal parts are stainless steel. Comes with a carrying/storage bag and recipe book.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW, 6 Jun 2008
I was given my Cobb for a 40th bithday pressent. I read the instructions and thought "yeah, yeah, I'll believe all of that when I see it!". Blimey what can I say other than it does all it says it will and perhaps more. You really can roast a joint on it, have a superb BBQ, all with just a few brickettes of charcoal. We have even used it indoors when the rain came on. You can move it with ease even after it has been lit for ages!(Have to light it outdoors as it smokes until the brickettes are lit). We are going to try bread next, but I am sure it will work fine for that too. Big recommendation!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best BBQ Ever, 3 Oct 2008
Great bit of kit whether used in the back garden or the great outdoors. Just back from the Highlands of Scotland and a typical menu on one feed of coals (6) was fresh baked bread followed by stuffed roast pork with roasted spuds. You just can't complain. I've used BBQ's in many parts of the globe and the Cobb is the most user friendly yet. Simple to use, simple to clean and easy to transport.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, it really is that good!, 15 Nov 2008

I've had a Cobb for 2 seasons now and I bought a second one this year. I have found that it is absolutely wonderful when used as per instructions. It is safe: doesn't get hot on the outside apart from the lid. Incredibly economical: 1 of the Cobb manufactured charcoal 'cobblestones' which lights instantly, cooks for around 2 hours. Alternatively, as fellow enthusiasts have pointed out, just 6 to 8 briquettes will do it. You can use it in drizzly weather. It smokes food as well as cooking it (smoked prawns are superb) It doesn't dry things out. I found that it cooked a half leg of lamb too quickly, but it was still really tender. Best of all, it is so portable, storable and lightweight.

We went camping this year in France, used it for most of our cooking and were actually allowed to use the Cobb where other barbecues had been banned on the campsites.

Forget about the fancy, large, gas barbecues. 1 Cobb will feed a family, but a couple of Cobbs on the go will cook enough food for a large barbecue party.

I'm planning broiled lobster for Boxing Day.....

Don't hesitate. If you need a barbecue, just get a Cobb!
