By ROROBLU'S MUM TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE

I bought this for the Lora Leigh book, Nauti Kisses, and was intrigued to know whose tale it was, as I'd not been able to find any blurb about the characters, not even on LL's website itself, and it turned out to be that of John Walker Jnr, brother of Rogue from the last book. After reading the tale, I've concluded that the lack of info was a deliberate marketing tool for a mediocre/only ok novella (146 pages long). It was ok is about all that I can say about it. The storyline is the same pretty much as all of the other Nauti books - a baddie is stalking the female lead, and the male lead goes all macho and protective, keeps the female on one of the houseboats (here it's the Nauti Wet Dream, but is also referred to Nauti Dream) on the water at the Mackay Marina and saves the day. This book was not as good as the others, as John wasn't really part of the posse that we've come to know, and I don't recall Sierra being mentioned previously (I may be wrong), and didn't really add anything to the series, other than providing a means of us seeing the leads from the previous books living their HEAs with their babies. The sex was only hot-ish, certainly not as hot nor as descriptive nor as plentiful as in the other Nauti books and Sierra wasn't as feisty, and as I say, the book IMHO wasn't necessary - contrary to what the author says in her dedication - to end the series.

Surprisingly, I found the JC Burton tale to be a tad better (200 pages), and I actually read this first, though I had intended to skim-read it only, and to savour the LL tale. This has been done before, and apparently the author has done several Wild books already, as I think we meet several of the previous male leads, but it did not inspire me to track down and read any more. Anyway, this is the tale of a bad-boy teen who got a break just as he was about to go down the road of no return, and is now a secret Govt operative. He's been sent undercover to find out why a senator's daughter has joined a gang of bada** bikers, and to get her out of trouble. Well, it turns out that she's not joined the gang, but has met up with them as her college roomie has shacked up with the gang-leader, and is now a good girl turned bad. Ava soon decides that she can't do much for her friend who has chosen her path in life, but at the same time, decides that she needs to have sex with Rick, who is posing as a would-be second to his cousin, the gang-leader. There's a bit of trafficking, Rick saves the day, but surprisingly, Ava takes this in her stride and seems a bit brain dead (she is meant to be ultra bright) and does not clock that average Joe doesn't usually save the day when the DEA is involved, and she only clocks that Rick is an agent when her father tells her that an agent was sent in to protect her. Anyway, they get together in the end, the friend sees the errors of her choices and changes her life (she somehow manages to get into rehab and a drug-plan within the week!!), but there was no angst, no great passion and I couldn't see the signs of a HEA, but still an ok-ish tale. At least there was a bit of a tale, which is a touch more than I can say for the LL novella. Hmmm....

Lora Leigh gives us another glimps into her nauti series, hopefully not the last! I loved the other books in this series and although the story was shorter, this one didn't dissapoint either.
