We've tried so many calcium supplements and these are the only kind my kids will eat. My 5 year old only drinks water. He hates fruit juices, milk, milk substitutes, etc, and this calcium supplement is the only kind he'll take. He also hates any food that is chewy textured, like the all the different calcium chewables (viactiv) out there. So I'm glad we found these! Glad that corn syrup isn't the first ingredient also.
One thing I don't understand is what kind of calcium is in these supplements, it says calcium aminoate, what does that mean? Is it more absorbable than carbonate?
I REALLY wish these contained a small amount of vitamin D though to help absorb the calcium though. I know Animal Parade makes a vitamin D supplement but it's a fruity chewable (horrible combo for us). I have to take an adult vitamin D softgel, cut it open and squirt it in his water and hope he drinks all of it, NOT convienent to do everyday. What calcium supplement out there doesn't come with vit D in it??? I live near Seattle, and daily take 2000+ IUs of D and barely maintain the minimun blood levels, so a small amount in this wouldn't hurt, even if you were supplementing separately.
