I haven't read all of this book yet, but although it was written in the early 1900s I believe some of the concepts can still be brought into today's world. The main theme seems to be the natural treatment of conditions and diseases, and looking at them as a whole, rather than a symptom at a time. Allopathic (conventional) medicine's approach of treating individual symptoms, suppressing them and taking surgical action are generally seen as making things worse, in Lindlahr's view.
He has some very interesting excerpts from scientists and physicians of his day on the allopathic approach to cancer, in particular, which make you wonder why the medical profession still carries on the way it does in some cases. Some of the material is now outdated due to the difference in medical knowledge and social development over the last century, but many of the basics behind Lindlahr's proposed natural treatments still hold.
Very interesting for those with an interest in holistic medicine, homeopathy and a more natural approach to health in general.
