This book contains many absolutely beautiful aquarium layouts, with superb photography and details on the equipment and environmental parameters needed to achieve them. My only slight criticism is that they are not really 'true' nature aquariums as the title would have you believe. Many look more like gardens (very beautiful ones!) with 6 or more plant species (which is extremely rare in a restricted aquatic habitat in nature) from different countries or even continents, never mind the same habitat. They are also a little bit 'fussy' in my opinion - for example none of these tanks have dead tree leaves on the substrate, which would be far more realistic and actually beneficial for many 'rainforest' tanks (which most of these are really). In short, Mother Nature is not a gardener! Still, nobody could deny the tanks look stunning, over many years Amano raised tank design to an art form. Be warned this book could easily inspire you to create a new tank!
