Product Description

Product Description

From fruits and flowers to gardens and landscapes, nature provides artists with a constant source of inspiration, a cornucopia of colors, and a variety of beautiful forms. Translate these natural wonders into shimmering watercolors with these comprehensive exercises. Finished examples are broken down into constituent shapes, shadings, and techniques, so you'll understand how painters analyze their subjects, and develop artistic skills and compositional acuity. Paint indoor images of flower heads, autumn fruits, and lobsters. Move outside and sketch stone gateways, a glowing red poppy, and a cool blue cluster of sweetpea blossoms. Finally, capture woodlands, gardens, and open sea and sky.

Natural Watercolour 29 April 2001
By Lois A. Appelbaum - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
As a returning art student this book is excellent. The author gives clear concise information as to the colors used to achieve the desired effect, as well as, wonderful step by step easy to follow guidelines. I have many books but none that have helped me more with color, composition, glazing and the delight of watercolor. This book is a must book for the beginner as well as the intermediate and advanced painter.
Natural Watercolors 8 Dec 2010

I kept checking this out of our local library until I finally decided I needed to buy one. The pictures alone are beautiful and I think the instruction for beginning watercolor are simple enough to understand. I really like everything about it and recommend it to anyone who is a beginner or a little more accomplished. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This watercolor book is a favorite of mine. The author describes and shows ways to do watercolor for everyone from the beginner to advanced painter. He gives demos that are interesting, informative and fun to do. I have used this book as reference over and over again and always will.
