Excellent text 19 Jan 2008
Format:Paperback
Awesome book. It begins with a history of terrariums and then explodes into facts, figures, and dynamics on how to build and maintain any one of several terrariums types: desert, jungle, forest, swamp, etc. I'm not exactly a beginner terrarist, but this book definitely has high-end stuff in it. I would personally recommend it for both advanced and beginning hobbyists, because certain sections contain more or less detailed or exacting information. The novice gets and easy entry into the hobby, and the expert learns a few things along the way as well. Don't be like me and waste your money on other terrarium texts. Buy this first, and you won't need to blow your cash on anythring else.

Excellent 6 April 2009
Format:Paperback
An excellent book from an author who obviously has years of hands on experience. No one can be disappointed with it's comprehensive coverage of the subject in a very easy to read style. By far the best I have found to date on the subject.

Best that I've ever found. 3 Aug 2007
By Terrarium Girl - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I'll be brief: I recently bought and read this book because I am building a new, elaborate terrarium. As a reference, this book is the best I've ever encountered. As a read-able book, it's also top notch. You would not think that moss could be interesting, but this book makes it so. Don't waste your money on books by Bartlett or Walls (anyone who reads herp books will know those guys know their stuff, but not like this!). If you're going to buy a terrarium book (discusses deserts, jungles, watery environs, etc. from beginner level to VERY advanced tricks and tactics), make this the one!!! You will NOT be disappointed.

An awesome book for creaing the most natural habitat possible for your pet 23 Aug 2009
By Krispy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
If you want to try creating a beautiful biome for your pet herp, this is the book for you. There is so much info packed into this little volume, and the author covers all aspects from enclosure type to appropriate rocks for particular habitats to plants and watering. He also covers the basics of about six different types of biomes with great tips for keeping your terrarium a living, breathing microcosm.

My goal is to build the most natural habitat for my future pet, and this book contained the most useful information to help me accomplish my goal.
