I had the previous book to this (which is almost exactly the same other than the cover) and it was such a wealth of advice through my third and fourth pregnancies.
I lent it to a friend, didn't get it back (!) and so brought the new edition for this pregnancy (my fifth).
Now on my fifth pregnancy, I admit I tend to find a lot of pregnancy books, and especially web information, somewhat patronising, basic and not that useful - but this book remains like a friend and a reference throughout. In fact, some of the 'pregnancy problems' listed can happen outside of pregnancy too, and what I've learned in the book has helped me in gently yet effectively treating many problems in my whole family!
Zita West focuses on natural remedies but in a clear pragmatic way, and she does not dismiss or rail against all Weatern medicine either, or classify women who have intervention, such as cesareans, as failures - which is a refreshing approach.
I've always found the suggested remedies easy to find, do or use - there are no obscure and complicated herbal mixes or postures like in some books. The sections on labour and birth are great to read, with a wealth of sound advice, but relatively short - you would need to read other books on this topic as well if this was your first birth and you wanted detailed information on labour.
I wish I'd had this book for my first pregnancy and would highly recommend it to anyone who has faith in nature's natural ability to help and heal, and wants more information on that.
