Book Description

3 April 2009
Every parent wants to give their child the best possible start in life. Natural Nursery Knits is a collection of 20 designs created in premium yarns that are as pure and natural as a newborn baby. Ranging from first garments through to blankets, cushions and toys, Erika Knight has put together a charming collection of designs specifically to provide all the hand knits that a newborn needs in its first months. The classic cardigan, a cosy blanket, practical washcloths and baskets, pram toys, and even that prerequiste Teddy Bear with movable limbs and expressive face are all designs included in this book.Chosen for their inherent softness, animal fibres such as baby alpaca, cashmere and extra-fine merino are complemented by sustainable plant fibres that are breathable, comfortable and soft, Erika has chosen the perfect materials that accommodate every baby's needs. The book also boasts over 50 colour photographs from leading interiors and fashion photographer Kristin Perers. Create beautiful items that will decorate your baby's first months as well as be practical to have around, or give one as a loving gift at a baby shower. With Natural Nursery Knits you can make your own irresistible item to be treasured in the nursery for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars **** 5 Jun 2009

Lovely ideas and easy to follow patterns. Although most of the patterns are quite simple and the yarns used are all in very natural and soft colours the finished items have a very refined and boutique worthy look about them. A lovely book, especially if knitting for a little girl.
