I bought this to occupy my 5 year old, which it managed for about 10 minutes.
The bird house is small, and I mean small, with a comparatively large entrance, it certainly would not be usable for any birds to nest in.
The perch did not fit as the hole was too large, and the house itself is supposed to be hung from a hole in the top.
Praise where praise is due, and sorry none due in this case.
I would go for the wooden bird box next time, maybe it would fit a bird and not an insect....

8yr old daughter loved painting it, attaching it to a tree in our garden, and then absolutely loved watching the blue-tits make a home in it. She preferred a Robin but cant have everything huh! Looks durable enough and has survived one winter so we'll see.

cannot say about durability but it is a lovely kit. Child said 'cool' when he received it so it was a hit.
