I originally purchased this book in an attempt to make an exhaustive complination of natural dyes as I could. To enabel me to ascertain with reasonable certainty if a particular color could be obtained using only natural ingriedients for medieval re-enactment. This book helped alot along the way to achieve this. Regretably the recipies given require you to have a good knowledge of weights and measures as things like pecks and bushels have not een used for some time in general use. The other problem is as to whether the fluid measures are American or English, no distinction is made. I personally have purchased this for a second time as my first copy was flood damaged. If you want to futher your understanding of Dyeing and the chemistry behind it I would recomend it, though not an easy read.
