Product Description
A unique absorbant cleaning powder suitable for use on all types of carpetting including matural fibres like wool and sisal. The powder consists of millions of tiny organic particles which are impregnated with the perfect amount of naturally derived surfactants.

I've always been sceptical when it comes to these dry carpet cleaners, but I was pleasantly surprised by this product.
It is relatively easy to use, the instructions say just to vacuum the carpet, sprinkle the cleaner evenly over the carpet, brush it into the carpet using a soft bristle brush, do not brush aggressively, leave for a least ten minutes and then vacuum off. Well is is almost that simple, but I did find that vigorous brushing with a stiff bristled brush to be more effective on the more stubborn marks (I used a brush specially designed for carpet cleaning that had both soft and hard bristles). Quite a lot of brushing was needed in some places, and I left it on for much more than the ten minutes.
The results were quite impressive, marks that all previous attempts to remove had failed disappeared with the Dry Carpet Cleaner, so effective was it that the special sachets of stubborn spot remover were not needed. The finished carpets look quite impressive, not just clean but much refreshed too. The cleaner has quite a strong fragrance which I would describe as at best not unpleasant. Of course a big advantage with using a dry cleaner is that the carpet is usable immediately, no waiting for it to dry.
I used a 3kg pack which was more than enough to do a large living room, the hall, stairs and upstairs landing with enough left over for another medium size room. I felt there were a couple of shortcomings: the instructions gave no indication as to the rate of application (an internet search provided the answer), and the pack did not provided anything with which to apply the cleaner, which is a light but fairly coarse powder (I used a garden trowel, I could have used my hands but not without rubber gloves - who knows what's in the cleaner!). The two problems could be solved in one: include with the product a measured cup that doubles as a sprinkler.
With all that dry powder to vacuum up the vacuum cleaner needed emptying before I finished - it's easy to forget, and the instructions don't mention it.
