Product Description

Book Description

The ancient trees of the British Isles form a distinct and fascinating group - in this little book their form and character are carefully described by Welsh border woodsman Andy Thompson.

With rare early engravings of seeds and branches, leaf shapes, typical tree outlines and common timber uses, printed on the highest quality recycled papers, this is an unusual, useful and beautiful book.

This book has well written and interesting descriptions of trees in Britain that have been here since the last ice age with wonderful drawings. A lovely present for any tree lover!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wooden Books, 15 Feb 2010

I've found this series of books to be highly entertaining and informative, so far I've bought five but intend to buy more, they are by no means comprehensive in their content but a perfect grounding for further study in a very wide range of subjects, The Naitive British Trees book is well written and illustrated in a way which hold the readers interest without burying its self in too much irrelavent detail, Wooden books also have an excellent eco policy by using only recycled materials so you could buy one or two without affecting your 'green' conscience!! These little books would make a great gift for those people who are normally difficult to buy for

Nice pretty little book but I expected to see actual photos of the trees so that I could recognise them, but they are sketches of leaves.
