Description Ernö Goldfinger conceived the design for Willow Road as both a functional family home and as an opportunity to explore his talents as an architect. The site was perfect for reflecting his ideas of light and space. It is one of Britain's most important examples of Modernist architecture and is filled with significant 20th century art including a number of works from Bridget Riley, Max Ernst and Henry Moore.Designed by architect Patrick Gwynne, The Homewood is a magnificent house and landscaped garden in Esher, Surrey. Its smooth, curved lines, geometric shapes and acres of glass reflect the style and ethos of the Modern Movement. The central spiral staircase and landscaped garden are striking and the light, open-plan, multi-functional living room pays homage to the cabinet-maker's art.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST! 4 Aug 2011
By Anthony
I'm so pleased I purchased this DVD! It's beautifully produced with exquisite filming and a fascinating narration. On the strength of this one I also purchased the DVD on Ham House. Another treasure. I only wish the National Trust would do some more - particularly on their 20th Century properties such as the Beatles' houses. I would highly recommend.
