Third World countries today have the problems that Continental Europe had in the 19th century.
This book which is from 1841 explains why the English free trade advocates who were barnstorming the continent shoud be told to get lost.
More than fifty years ago I learned about the book (it was mentioined in one of our history books in my school) but it is not until now that I have got around to reading it.
