Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
First impressions, I was astonished at just how *tiny* the model is (see the photo I posted of it standing next to an ipod).
It seemed like a great idea to get one as I was teaching some students about basic anatomy (how alcohol affects different organs) and wanted to use something a little more visceral than photos on the internet. The main issue for me is that it's way too small for more than one person at a time to inspect it at a time...

On the PLUS side: it's small enough to carry around, offers a good way to introduce young children to human anatomy - the little tweezers that came with it reminded me of the old 'Operation' board game.

On the MINUS side: small enough to lose parts very easily, probably won't hold the interest of any kids over 9 yrs old (and small parts will preculde very young children from having access to it)

OVERALL: Over-priced/too small for any serious use, but might prove useful for explaining anatomy to kids if it pops up in conversation.

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Absolutely brilliantly conceived educational aid to both learning human biology and the location of all the organs, however the model is absolutely tiny.
The model tops off at 6", so as you can imagine, the constituent parts are minute, easily lost, and very fiddly to hold. However, on the plus parts, the mold quality of the plastic is very good, and I can easily see that if all parts stay put, staying... and actually having... a place on a students shelf all the way from 8-80. Ideal model as well for anyone interested in human biology, and looks rather 'unique' on the living room shelf. It has already provoked several conversations along the line of "Oh, I didnt know that went there!" So... all in all, good, worth the money, but as I said, rather small.

Amazon Vine™ Review (What's this?)
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Against a background of introducing my daughter to detective stories we had amazing fun taking this apart and putting it back together.

For her, it became a proto-forensic experience, we built several stories of solving some made up discovery by looking at the body.

Incredible how it infects a child's imagination to 'see' into the body.

To be played with and a child to be given freedom to put it back together in all different kinds of ways.

Excellent stuff.

Fiddly, but it does the trick.
It looks a fair bit meatier in the picture than it actually is. The whole torso feels, on the whole, pretty cheap and flimsy. Read more

Slightly Disapointing
My other reviews of items in this series have been rather negative. Unfortunately some of the same issues (although not all) are in force here. Read more

Not very exciting.....
This torso went together remarkably easily. I watched while a ten year old assembled it following the instructions. The only real problem was inserting the ribcage. Read more
