Product Description

Product Description

Sharks are huge, torpedo-shaped animals that have prowled the Earth's oceans for over 100 million years. Great whites can sense tiny amounts of blood in the water up to 3 miles away and have over 300 teeth to chomp with. Hammerheads swim in tropical waters looking to pin stingrays against the rocks with their wide heads. Tiger sharks, with their ferocious-looking stripes, can grow up to 25 feet long. "The National Geographic Kids Everything Series" shows kids these sharks and much more. National Geographic explorers take readers behind-the-scenes into the watery world of sharks and tell their extraordinary tales about their interactions with these creatures. Filled with fun facts and action-packed photographs, this book lets kids see below the surface and into the lives of sharks.

The shark book was great, my daughter was using it as a reference for her school report on sharks. The delivery time was also good. The condition of the book was brand new.
Everything Sharks 25 April 2011
By Heidi Grange - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Did you know that sharks can here pray 820 feet away (over 2 football fields) away? Or that sharks can smell blood one-half mile away? or that sharks like the color yellow because it is easy to see under water? These and other fascinating facts about sharks can be found in this book. Maintaining their high standards, National Geographic has produced another book that begs to be shared. Whether the reader shares facts like those above or the gorgeous photographs, the book is perfect for all those shark-lovers out there, and even those who don't particularly care for sharks will find the information interesting. The book would also be very useful in teaching students how to read graphs, diagrams, and maps, as well as the importance of good captions. Highly recommended.
WOW 12 April 2011
By Lisa Barker - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
WOW. Glamorous shots of sharks load this book with fun and will please your shark enthusiast. Hands down this is a great read for 9-12 year olds and perfect for getting that 30 minutes of reading in per day. Everything Sharks reads like a fun magazine, true to National Geographic style, and will keep interest up all the way through. And, for those looking for resources, there's enough info here to really help out with a research paper on sharks. - Biblio Reads Children's Book Review
