"If you're planning a trip to a Canadian park this year, be sure to pick up the new guide from National Geographic." -About.com "The book gives an overview of Canada's 42 parks and each section provides useful service information on "How to Get There," "When to Go," and "How to Visit." Plus you'll find lists of hotels, campsites, and tour operators to help you plan your trip." -Intelligent Travel "When it comes to exploring this expansive, gloriously beautiful country of ours, it's hard to know where to start. That's where the National Geographic Guide to the National Parks of Canada comes in." -Chatelaine.com "The book also contains information about historic sites within a 100-kilometre radius of a national park." -Cape Breton Post

Nice overview of the Canadian National Parks, with good tips what to do in the parks. I can recommend it to everyone who goes traveling in in Canada

Having purchased the USA version of this book, I decided to use that positive experience and get the Canada version.

This book is a great starting point for planning, as it does cover all the smaller parks and gives you a lot of basic information about them. It helps quickly eliminate some from your thoughts, and gives you enough encouragement to investigate others.
The only downside to a compact book (about an inch thick) is that it can't possibly include all the information you would require and therefore it leaves you needing a more detailed book when it comes to planning the actual trips.

A great ideas book with awesome photographs, that would be probably not be taken on the actual trip.

Badly needed book 18 July 2011
By qwertyuiop - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book is done in the same format as the national parks of the united states, and it is a badly needed book about the canadian national parks. The last book about Canbada's national parks was published in 2004. It tells about each of Canada's 42 national parks, and tells what to do there, how to get there, where to stay, the acreage of the parks, and more. I would have rated it four stars because it does not describe the geography and geology of the parks as well as I wish it did, but compared to all other books about Canada's national parks it deserved five stars. I own this book and the one about the American national parks, because I live in Minnesota, so I go to Canadian parks almost as often as I go to American parks. In my experience Canadian parks are better funded, with better services, and they are often bigger. But, they are more expensive to go to than american parks.
I reccomend this book.

Natl Geo guide to Candian Parks 7 Nov 2012

This guide is lovely to look at but did not have enough details for me. I would have liked to see hiking trails listed and more specifics on camping rather than just "don't miss" spots. How do I get to those spots? More details please.
This Book Is A Wonderful Book With Beautiful Pictures In It! 3 July 2014

The book is a wonderful book with beautiful pictures of Canada's National Parks and descriptive info about the parks. I live in California and I have visited Canada about 15 times so far. The people of Canada that I have encountered on my trips so far have been very polite and very friendly to me. Of the parks mentioned in this book that I have visited so far, they have included the following: Cape Breton Highlands, Waterton Lakes, Banff, Jasper, Kluane, Alexander Graham Bell NHS, and Fort Rodhill NHS. If possible, I would love to visit more parks with the help of this book. For a person wanting to visit Canada's National Parks, this is a wonderful book!
