3.0 out of 5 stars Great Guide 16 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I usually use either Fodor's or Lonely Planet by default, and I only decided to try the National Geographic's guide mostly on an impulse. On the whole, it remains very hard to compete with the level of detail provided by a Lonely Planet guide, but the National Geographic guide to Canada has proven to be a worthwhile buy. It is ideal for the touristic driver, unafraid of the occasional diversion.

4.0 out of 5 stars A worthwile read 18 Oct 2005
By G. Lewis VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is about the same size as the Rough Guide to Canada, but this one is overflowing with beautiful photographs and insightful information. Printed on glossy paper and set out region by region.

The trouble with any guide book is that it goes out of date as soon as it is written, but much of what is written within this book should be current and helpful.

I can't afford to go to Canada at the moment, but nothing stops me enjoying the pictures.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great book for a general overview of Canada 11 Mar 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
National Geographic Traveler's Canada gives a great broad look at Canada's cities and their highlights. As with any National Geographic series book, its full with rich pictures of the various sights. Included are good driving destinations for scenic tours. However, this book is definitely not the be-all and end-all of Canadian Travel. It does not give a detailed look at any of the cities, and should be really only used as a starter for more research into what you plan on doing and where. But then again, how can anyone expect a concise travel guide on such a large country in only 400 pages?
5.0 out of 5 stars Useful Guide 28 Sep 2009

Format:Paperback
Very useful guide even though it's a few years old. Coordinate with current maps to double check that route is still in tact. Gives good suggestions on sights to take in.
