Got this for my partner for Christmas because he never had one when he was a child and he's really enjoyed making them and I'm sure children would as well.
It's perfect for either just some fun or some more serious experimentation. Includes everything you need and is great value - much better than the kits that grow overnight on a sheep or something and are only one colour. This kit has loads of colours, but they do take around a week to grow fully. Also comes with a handy display table
Overall a great buy and very fun

My son bought one of these kits out of his birthday money and it never worked, the made crystals were nothing like the ones on the box, tell your child to spend their money on something else!
