No better atlas available anywhere. I have a personal preference for National Geographic's cartographic style which is easy to read and shows boundaries and main cities clearly. The fact that many news and academic organisations use their maps is testimony to that. A wealth of demographic information is included which may be of interest mostly to students, so the layman is not likely to find anything missing except possibly a loadable CD version for PC use. Great price off Amazon UK (£75) which beats buying directly from Nat'l Geographic itself and even U.S.-based web sites.

+ very good and huge book(easy to read)
the maps are very clear and attract you to read for hours
all the depths of seas around the world mentioned on maps(very important for me)
normal price (79 euro with shipping)

- almost the half of the book is index(for me so big index is loss-i prefer more detailed maps)
very heavy(5 kg)only on desk
many maps for America a few for Africa and other places(nathional geographic under the inscription
of ninth edition on the front cover of the book you should write and"american edition"- i am not American-

do not spend over 80 euro for 440 pages( 280 maps and facts plus 150 index)
