I got these as a way of carrying Isotonic drinks during a half marathon. It did the job perfectly in the context of running 21K.

However I think it unlikely I will use it often outside of these longer runs, especially training. You need to make sure you get the correctly sized strap, which fastens using velco. I wear 34" trousers and the medium was fine. It is secure and comfortable although can take a little bit of running each time to find the right tension of the strap for it to feel comfortable and for the bottles not to bounce. When this is done you would hardly know they are there.

I found the bottles are water tight if you push down the stopper firmly, but it is easy when running to not do that. So you get water dripping over the backs of your legs. Which actually, quite weirdly, was quite refreshing. The pouch is twin layered and the mesh looks strong. I keep my phone in there but trust keys only to the pocket in my shorts.

I have since used these in training runs 10k+ and find the belt and bottles excessive (where performance is not critical) and prefer to just carry a bottle. I will wear these for my next half marathon, one bottle full of gel and the other isotonic fluid. A definite must have for any longer race, especially if water stations are rare.

Finally, I should mention the quickdraw technology is not a gunslinger correlation but reference to how easy it is to get the liquid from the bottles into your mouth. It really does squirt out as you squeeze the bottle. It is much better than all other bottles I have used, meaning you spend little time trying to get drink into you and more concentrating on the road ahead.

I have gone on, hope this was at least helpful.

I bought this over a month ago as I am training for a half marathon and find that anything over 10km is too much without rehydrating. The bottles are well made and fit enough water for me for a 15-21km run. They are easy to get in and out of the belt and are easy to squirt water into your mouth while running (or suck, should you wish). I wear this with the bottles on my back as I find it is least likely to ride up this way round. As it has a velcro strap adjustment, it takes a few times for you to work out the right tightness to avoid it riding up to your waist. It sits just above my waistline. I would prefer it to sit a little lower than this, but it seems to work its way up while you are running. It is very comfortable to wear. I ordered a 'small', as I have about a 34" waist, and even though it seems a little small for a 'small' size, it works for me. I think a medium would have been big and the straps would then overlap. I have not worked out how I am going to wash it yet, I guess by hand?? It has a pouch in the front which just about fits my smartphone and a few energy gels. I am extremely happy with this product as it is very well made and I can see it is going to last a long time. For the quality of the product I have given it 5 stars, as quality was what I was after. I hope this helps you decide on the right one for you.

I bought this after trying a few different belts. Most belts of this type have a plastic clip fastener that you tighten by pulling the straps through and in my experience the straps work themselves loose after a short time, meaning that the belt starts bouncing around and twisting. I'm not sure if this might be more of a problem for me because I am skinny in the hips and I don't have much cushioning. The main selling point of the Nathan belt for me is that it has an elasticated strap with a velcro fastener and it stays in place around my waist throughout the run.

For information I ordered the Speed 2 belt with two bottles but was sent a Speed 4 that comes with four bottles and an additional small pouch at the front. I have decided to see this is an unexpected upgrade but others might feel differently.

Fantastic piece of kit. Two good water bottles, nicely balanced, and a pocket big enough for mobile phones and gel.

Has lasted me two years and a marathon - elastic beginning to go now but I don't need to replace it just yet. When I do it'll be same again!

Having agonised as to which belt to get for my increased mileage, now that I'm training for a marathon, I went for this one as the reviews are so positive. It's not cheap but I reckon it's got to be one of the best on the market in terms of design and the materials it's made from. The elasticated stretchy belt is a real plus, making for a comfortable snug fit. The only issue is that the label suggests wearing it on the hips rather than the waist (so as to avoid affecting breathing). Certainly a good idea and extremely comfortable. However after I started running it wasn't long before it gradually slipped off my hips and made it's way up to my waist. It just slips off my lycra running top - and there is no way I'd have it underneath as I wouldn't have easy access to the bottles then. So for a while I kept pushing the belt back onto my hips - but there was no way it was going to stay so resigned to the fact it would be on my waist.
It takes a bit of getting used to if you've never run with a belt before - and I certainly wouldn't use it for a speedy 10km race. However when you're running 10 miles + and need extra liquid/gels etc I think having some sort of belt is essential so this is probably the best out there at the moment. It is light and compact and the bottles are easy to draw and replace from their holster. There's a handy pouch to store gels, key and phone in, plus a waterproof emergency card in case you collapse and have to be identified!
