Natasha Scharf is an author, broadcaster and music journalist who specialises in alternative, gothic and metal musical genres. She was the founding editor of the UK's best-selling gothic magazine 'meltdown' and has since contributed to numerous publications including Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Classic Rock, Artrocker and Prog. She co-produced a documentary on the gothic subculture for BBC Radio 1 called 'Beyond The Pale' and has been interviewed many times on television and radio.
Frequently quoted in books, blogs and magazine articles, her first book 'Worldwide Gothic' was published by Independent Music Press in June 2011. A Czech language version will be released in 2012 through Volvox Globator. She is currently working on a second book, which is due for publication through Independent Music Press in early 2013.
