Murder and revenge in New Orleans
Vol. 3 in the Frank Renzi hard-boiled detective mystery series.

TWO MURDERS TWENTY YEARS APART
1988: Ten-year-old Natalie is devastated when police find her call girl mother brutally beaten to death in a New Orleans hotel. Like the dragon tattoo girl, Natalie wants revenge. She vows to find the man who killed her mother and punish him. After her unhappy teen years in Texas, her hunt for the killer takes her from dancing in New York City strip clubs to working as a call girl in Paris. And back to the Big Easy, with a gun.

2008: New Orleans Police Detective Frank Renzi investigates the murder of a VIP businessman in a French Quarter hotel. Is it revenge for the 1988 murder? When the killings continue, Renzi pursues the elusive Natalie. Is she the killer? Or just another call girl?

Don't miss the exciting showdown between Natalie (armed, dangerous and determined) and NOPD detective Frank Renzi.

What to read after the dragon tattoo girl? Natalie's Revenge! She's smart, ruthless and deadly

Whether you file it under revenge mystery, dragon tattoo girl (yes Natalie has a tattoo), hard-boiled mystery, or New Orleans mysteries, Natalie's Revenge will keep you reading until the last page.

If you love New Orleans fiction and gritty detective mysteries, follow Frank Renzi's relentless pursuit of justice in Absolution and Diva, two more novels in this hard boiled detective series. .

4.0 out of 5 stars Terrific. 9 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a terrific read. I enjoyed Natalie's side of the story and part of me wanted her to succeed in her mission, but I also wanted Frank to catch up with her. Didn't expect the ending.
There were a few mistakes with extra words in sentences, some words missing out of others and at the airport Natalie was wearing sweatpants but her hands were sweating and she didn't dare wipe them on her skirt?
Looking forward to the next installment with Frank.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally brilliant 3 Jun 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really love the Frank Renzi series, and am already looking forward to the next one later this year.
Here we have a really imaginative plot, cleverly constructed, with plenty of thrills and spills along the way. I'm not normally a fan of 'flashback' sections..and there are plenty in this book..but somehow the author makes it work, and the reader never loses track of things.
This is a really great read, as were the previous 2 Renzi stories, and Susan Fleet ranks amongst the very best of the new crop of thriller writers. I've a feeling she'll be around for a very long time.
Thanks Susan for another great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The purest motive... 7 Feb 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
While Mahatma Ghandi said `An eye for an eye would make the whole world blind', revenge is still considered to be the purest motive. Susan Fleet's superbly drawn character Natalie exemplifies the truth of this aphorism. The reader follows Natalie's journey as she pursues revenge for the death of her Vietnamese mother, murdered when Natalie was only ten years old. Her abused early years and struggles are vividly shown and how her motivation drives her on an inexorable path.
As her story unfolds we resume our acquaintance with tough - but vulnerable - New Orleans cop Frank Renzi, who struggles to make sense of the bloody trail left by Natalie. And as with all good series it's a pleasure to meet up again with familiar characters like love interest Kelly, police partner Kenyon and nemesis Vobitch.
As the paths of the hunter and the hunted converge, Renzi's sensibilities become confused. This is a great sequel to Fleet's two previous Renzi novels and she shows no sign of let-up in developing her protagonist character Frank Renzi. At the same time I detected strong empathy with the character of Natalie who could well have commanded, in her own right, a centre stage role in a stand-alone thriller. Mind you, the door's left open...
Another excellent read from Susan Fleet - keep them coming, please!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read!!!! 24 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Natalie's Revenge, the latest in the Detective Frank Renzi series by crime novelist Susan Fleet, is a real page-turner. A dangerous serial killer is targeting men on the streets of New Orleans. At first the killings appear to be random, but as Renzi digs deeper, he discovers a disturbing motive behind the crimes. To prevent the killer from striking again, Renzi will have to unlock a mystery that has been carefully hidden for over twenty years. In the process, he will to tangle with the CIA, and more dangerous still, confront his own troubled past.

Natalie's Revenge features crisp writing, gritty settings, finely drawn characters and plenty of suspenseful plot turns. Readers of Fleet's other Renzi novels Absolution and Diva will not be disappointed.

NATALIE'S REVENGE is a great read. Written in the gritty, tough style reminiscent of the great mysteries of the 40's and 50;s. Susan Fleet has mastered the art of writing a fast paced, hard hiting detective story. Frank Renzi books are tops on my list!
