Nat Geo Quiz: Wild Life is, as you would expect, a questions based quiz game which covers 4 different series of National geographic wild life TV shows - Dangerous Encounters, Amazing Planet, Aquatic life and Predators vs Prey.
Game play is divided into the Quiz mode for more 2-4 players, Stat Attax (A kind of top trumps card game) for 1 or 2 players and Quest mode, the single player 'campaign'. There are also a set of puzzles in the form of jigsaws, sliding tile games and square picture puzzles to rearrange.
What becomes apparent quickly is this game is more of an educational tool than a computer game. There are 3 difficulty levels which are balanced enough but the content quickly becomes repetitive with formulaic question patterns and layout, although perhaps this is to be expected with this type of game.
It is presented beautifully with HD video and pictures aiding the experience.
There are a lot of questions and in quiz mode it does a good job of avoiding repetition of them which helps keep the game from being a pure memory test, but it does feel a little devoid of excitement at times.
If you're a looking at this game for achievements and gamerscore it's not going to be too challenging but will take a lot of hours and a lot of repetition. You will, however, have an encyclopaedic knowledge of many wild life related topics!
Overall this is a well presented if somewhat dour game, which can be fun if not played either too seriously or too frequently.
As an educational aide it is a good quality product.
