An Inexpensive Life Changer 3 Jan. 2012
By Kirkwall - Published on Amazon.com
I have had sinus issues most my adult life. Nothing too serious, but enough where I saw a specialist a couple of times. My short story was:
1 at times I couldn't sleep well at night because my sinuses were clogged
2 this made it difficult to get the 5 hours minimum I need...and "yes" I sleep on my back

I stumbled on the Nasaline 6 years ago and what a wonderful discovery it has been for me. I travel globally 6 months annually and now never leave home without it. It has become a part of my morning protocol after showering.

There are the very rare times now when I can't breathe well at night. I simply walk to the bathroom and irrigate each sinus with my Nasaline and I'm back in bed ready to sleep within minutes.

Here are a couple of tips you may find helpful:

1 I have tried every kind of salt imaginable (organic, Nasaline brand, sea salt, etc). Save your money and buy the inexpensive grocery store variety...but without iodine.

2 Use warm water....avoid cold tap water or extremely hot.

3 Take it easy and flush each nostril at a slow to moderate speed..otherwise it can cause minor sinus discomfort.

4 I use a coffee mug: put the salt in first: add water: stir it up with the Nasaline: ensuring balanced salinity.

5 I have tried it without salt on several occasions and it was markedly less effective.

6 Years ago I found a sinus surgical specialist's article online that stated (in his professional opinion) that one third of sinus related surgeries could be avoided by using a device of this kind. As I recall he didn't endorse a particular brand. Please accept my apology for not bookmaking that article and sharing the link. Maybe a resourceful reader can track it down and post it here as an addendum.

7 There are numerous companies who make a similar product. Because this is the only one I have owned, it's the only one I can endorse.

8 The included translucent, plastic protective carrying case is very helpful when traveling.

9 Four years ago I bought one for my little sister as she has similar sinus issues. She says she loves it almost as much as she loves me. And that's quite an endorsement because she loves me a lot.

Flush out those sinuses! VERY effective! 16 July 2011
By R. Frank - Published on Amazon.com
The Nasaline works great to flush out your sinuses. I've made my own solution with a mix of what some other reviewers use and find that it's the ideal solution.

I ALWAYS use the Nasaline after a day of breathing in dust or pollen to make sure I can get as much of it out of my system as possible. To minimize breathing in too much dust if you work in it a lot I recommend a respirator such as this one: MSA Safety Works 10059410 Economical Paint Spray Respirator

Here is what I use for the solution. I use a 4 cup measuring cup and put about 1 cup of warm water (test it with your finger - too hot or too cold and it will be QUITE uncomfortable), 1/2 tablespoon of salt, 1/4 tablespoon of baking soda to neutralize any sting, and a splash of Alkalol - A Natural Soothing Nasal Wash, Mucus Solvent and Cleaner Kit - with Cup, 16-Ounce to help clear away mucous.

Make sure you tilt your head slightly forward and do above the sink or in the shower. I do 2 full flushes on both sides of my nostrils. As you depress the syringe I find it easier to say, "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" as you're flushing the water.

You may want to tilt your end upside down on each side for 30 seconds to drain any water that may have gone into your Eustacian tubes, otherwise water will randomly drip out of your nose up to hours after using the product.

Make sure you have Kleenex with you if you're not in the shower as you'll immediately want to blow your nose.

Good luck!

Can't live without this thing 27 Aug. 2011
By Mountainpatsy - Published on Amazon.com
I have been using the Nasiline irrigator for three years now and it has been a lifesaver for me! Allergy season has not been torturous, I definitely am not getting colds as often, and when I do, the duration is shorter. I am so thankful my ENT recommended this to me! Once I was over the initial salt-water-up-my nose discomfort, I was hooked. I don't mind the occasional 'nasal leakage' that occurs during the day (I just make sure I have a tissue ready if I have to bend my head down). Heck..it's just salt water!

I replace mine every 6 months, and am so glad I found an online source!
p.s. I have never used a netti pot, so I cannot compare the two.

Amazon's prices are great on this one! 6 Nov. 2011

If you have nasal congestion and allergies you need to try this. It's much better than the Neil Med product which uses the squirt bottle. It lasts a long time too. I wouldn't be without it.

The Nasaline nasal irrigator syringe is well made and very comfortable to use. For me, it's much easier to use than a neti pot, and it leaves my sinuses feeling clear and open.
